Night of Event Rules:

1)Your song must have a name or a title.

2)Your song must have a melody.

3)Profanity or suggestive material will disqualify your entry.

4)Song must be 4 minutes or less. If it goes longer you will be deducted points.
(If you feel your song may too long we suggest: shortening the intro, turn around, solo and outro)

5)Your performance at the hosting dealership will be no more than two instruments, played by two people. (We would prefer the writer of the song performing his or her song.) If you feel you cannot perform your song you may elect someone to perform it for you - it is your responsibility to arrange this in advance.

8) You must submit $20.00 entrance fee to your hosting store.
9) You must submit a legible lyric sheet for approval.

10)If your song is in a foreign language, an English translation must accompany your entry.

11)The order of performers will be decided by our contest team directors.

12) For purposes of possible sponsorship transportation to final round in Commerce, Texas, your name, birth date and sex must accompany your entry form. (FAA regulations) The Songwriters Contest Production Company (Blanchard Management Group) Is not responsible for providing travel to the final round event at the Texas Song Fest on April 28th, 2012. All final contestants are responsible for getting to the festival to participate in the final round.

13) Only one song per songwriter will be selected.

14) Performance must be with live accompaniment. (No tracks allowed and only two people on stage during the performance)

15) Every contestant must sign a contest release form.

16) Contestants cannot be signed to a major record label or major publishing company

17) Plagiarism will not be tolerated
NOTE: The video release form may be signed at your local hosting store before or on the night of the event at your local store location.
